To the Moon and back.

Do you like it?  Its a birthday present for my wonderful husband! I am going to hide it in the veggie drawer until this birthday this weekend.  I usually do not post gifts before I give them, but I could not resist.  Also, my husband usually does not read my blog. ( I know. right?)

I thought up this idea in a dream I had last night.  I think he will love it.  I think that this would also make a great Fathers day gift.

How to make a  " I Love you to the Moon and back" beer gift.

Supplies:
Orange and yellow card stock
Black sharpie
orange marker
craft twine
glue
scissors
1 6 pack of Blue Moon beer

1) Make oranges out of construction paper I used a glass to stencil out the oranges on yellow card stock, then cut out orange triangles to make the oranges.  If you are familiar with Blue Moon, then you might know that it is best served with an orange slice.

2) Tie or glue them onto the Beer package

3) On card stock write out an big THE to place over the "blue" on the beer package.

4) Write out " And Back"  and glue both of these on the beer package.

5) Write out a sign on card stock that says " I love you to" to glue on the top of the six pack.

Thats it!

I just hope that my husband does not find this until his real birthday!

Fathers day bottle costumes

I like to plan holidays in advance.  My husbands first Fathers day is no exception.  This June will be my husbands first Fathers day and I want to make sure that its a special day for him.

If you are a reader of my blog, you know that my husband Greg enjoys a good beer now and then. ( What can I say? We live in Iowa and are Catholic)

Why not decorate something your husband or dad REALLY wants for Fathers Day with items that they REALLY DON"T want for Fathers Day?

Such as a Tie that says #1 dad on it!

I made these Fathers Day bottle costumes with craft foam.  Craft foam can get a little wet, and Its made of material similar to a Koozie.  I cut all these costumes out freehand  and decorated them with  3d Puff Paint. ( Which if you are a reader of this blog, you should know that I use it quite often when crafting)

I used craft twine to attach the Bottle costume onto the bottle.

What if the Fathers in your family don't drink beer?

Put them on Dad's root beer! When I was a kid we ALWAYS celebrated Fathers day by making root beer floats as a family.

These are on sale at my Etsy shop if you feel like having someone else craft for you!

Hope I have given you some Fathers day inspiration!

Birthday beer labels!

Like my Birthday beer labels?  I am selling them on my Etsy shop

Over a year ago I published my " Valentine Beer labels for him".  I received many requests to come up with Birthday beer labels as well!

I decided to come up with birthday slogans after thinking about how hard it is to shop for my husbands birthday.  He never needs anything or wants anything!!

Here are some simple steps on how to make " Birthday beer labels" for the man in your life!

1) Go to a grocery store that sells beer by the bottle.  Purchase 6 different beers for your significant other to try!  Put together a unique six pack!

2) Come up with fun birthday slogans!  The slogans I came up with are just a guide! The man in your life might have a different favorite beer, or you two might have an inside joke you may want to make a slogan for!

3) Make beer labels!  I made my labels decorating adhesive beer labels with Cardstock and 3d puff paint.  You might have other material you might want to make yours out of!

Here are close up shots of my beer labels!

Hope I have helped inspire you on making a birthday gift for the man in your life!  Something he will actually use!

Don't feel like making these yourself? Please visit my Etsy shop above, and I will be happy to make you a set!

Brewed and Puffy Painted with Love!

Lets be realistic here. Valentines day is a women's holiday ( and I am not saying we don't deserve to get flowers and chocolates)  But lets not pretend that our guys will be wanting chocolate, flowers or a stuffed teddy bear.

My husband Greg is not a big drinker, but he does like to open a nice Pale ale or amber ale every so often.

I have decided I am going to purchase a 6 pack of unique beers for him and put these labels on them for Valentines day.  ( Please don't judge by the Miller light in the pictures. I found these in the garage. Used just for pictures only!. I do plan on getting him some higher quality beer)

Here is how I made these

1) Cut pieces of Card stock into an appropriate size for labels.
2) Made up some clever beer slogans and printed them out also on card stock.
3) Decorated each label with Puffy Paint, stickers and craft foam
Just as a side note. If you are not well acquainted with Puffy Paint, then I HIGHLY recommend you introduce yourself.  Puffy Paint can put the finishing touch needed to ANY and I mean ANY craft! ( If you keep reading my blog then you will know what I mean.)

When I was a Girl Scout leader, I was told by one of my girls that I changed her life because I introduced her to Puffy Paint! Now that's something!

Here is a close up of each beer label.

( My husband does not need beer to be happy. But I just think its funny)

( used for a Honey Weiss)

Well I hope you enjoy these! I am sure My Hubby will.
